If you are looking for a reliable interface, DO NOT BUY Antelop Zentour . Recording acoustic guitar through a couple of different mic combinations was a good starting point. I used a 414 with the BA31 and the Stay Levin which is a very warm and in-your-face compressor, but at the same time gentle. For the second, I used a stereo pair of DPA 451s which I still swear by, but with the same plugins. It was a real revelation hearing exactly how the sound changed as I made small adjustments in relation to the microphone’s position. I bought the Zen Tour for my home studio and it was a nice upgrade from my Scarlet 2i4 (which is great in it’s own way but I needed more options and better quality which the Zen Tour definitely delivered). There is a little learning curve that others have mentioned with the software routing, but once you get past that, this unit is pretty easy to work with. As they are trying to attract songwriters, small bands, and non-engineers with this unit, I do think they should build up some more online tutorial content, sample routing schemes, etc. but all in good time. The effects are great and while I had a few crashes with them at first, regular updates have been coming and I haven’t had any issues in a couple months.

The clean guitar sounds were nice, but the distorted effects sounded thin to me.
